Within the project “New solutions to old problems – exchange of new types of approaches in the field of Roma integration” project, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation, on June 4 and 5, in the hotel “Kumanovo Spa”- Kumanovo, RROMA with the coalition “KHETANE” held an networking advocacy meeting.
The purpose of the networking meeting was Consolidation of the work of the coalition, networking for better advocacy through a specific strategy, planning meetings with donors for better planning of funds intended for organisations from the basic (local level), setting the dynamics of action.
At the first day was discussed how to raise donor awareness of the importance of supporting a bottom-up approach to Roma inclusion and empowerment. At the national level, how to create an advocacy plan that is particularly important as it will focus on donor funding, especially government funding, to persuade the government not to use only EU funds to include Roma, but provide more readily available own resources for Roma inclusion programs.
The second day was discussed Khetane strategy for operating the funding level at the basic level for increase the civic involvement of the Roma community for the better inclusion at local, regional and national level – identification of institutions, stakeholders, donors, partners, allies, what is the narrative and what are the main messages by Khetane?, Advocacy and visibility time frame, Organising meetings with donors.
